Designed for senior trainees and consultants, this advanced workshop explores contemporary approaches to abdominal wall repair. The session will focus on operative planning, component separation techniques, mesh selection and positioning, and strategies for managing complex and recurrent hernias.

This workshop will use an animal model of a groin hernia containing small bowel. The purpose of the exercise is to reduce the small bowel, perform a peritoneal flap dissection, discuss the relevant anatomy, place and fix a mesh, and finally close the peritoneal flap.
